Community clean up for individuals and groups.

Is there a roadside where you live or work that needs cleaning? A nearby intersection?  #LoveWhereYouAre is a community clean up in West Indianapolis. Our goal is to equip hundreds of community champions with resources to love where they live or work by organizing clean ups this April 26 & 27.

FAQ

Everything else you need to know.

Who's responsible?

You are. Love Where You Are is a grassroots movement organized with the help of community leaders. However, your group is responsible for its clean up. Download a sample liability form here.

What's the commitment?

Each participating group is a community champion and is committing to cleaning up a roadside in the area of their choice. Each group will have a project manager dedicated to a safe and enjoyable cleanup. There will be a virtual meeting for project managers on April 1. At this meeting, we will discuss trash pick up and logistics.

What's provided?

Keep Indianapolis Beautiful has donated hundreds of pairs of gloves and trash bags to our community champions. We have requested the City of Indianapolis provide more significant resources to the most at-need areas–from street sweepers to traffic officers. Become a champion by filling out the form on this page. Project managers will receive an email about these resources along with an invitation to a virtual meeting on April 1.

When are the times?

We can only guarantee resources to participants on these days. The clean up is April 26 & 27, which means that your organization can pick to serve on a Friday, Saturday, or both. Each organization will determine its times.

What's the goal?

What do we hope to accomplish through this cleanup? More than a beautiful community, we hope to walk away with greater unity and awareness. We hope our community will be a conversation topic at City Hall. We also hope many residents will experience a renewed sense of pride and ownership. Can we change everything in 48-hours? No, but we can be the start of that change.
